Bit of an unusual subject to have isn 't it? I mean Islam?  Am I a muslim? Am I Asian? Erm, no actually. But I have a very open mind. So expect to see a few postings about Islam and it's wonderful people.

My Hero the Prophet

Permit me to mention the last Prophet of God, Prophet Muhammad. (PBUH)

OK, PBUH means Peace Be Upon Him. Peace in heaven that is. After all, the Prophet Muhammad gave the last 20 or so years of his life to receiving the word of Allah (God) via the arch Angel Gabriel. The Prophet was an illiterate simple man. And yet the words of the Holy Qu'ran passed through him by some higher devine spirit and were scribed by people selected for their ability to do this following each revelation. For example , comparable to the person taking shorthand to give a word for word account of a meeting.  These words became the Holy Qu'ran, and it is generally believed that these words are the most beautiful in the Arabic language. Pretty good for a humble illiterate merchant!! The prophet was extremely compassionate person and it is widely accepted that anyone who met him was completely in awe of him.

During the last few years, I have broken with the British mould and actually opened my eyes to Islam. I am not a Muslim and cannot say if I ever will become a Muslim. But I have to say, that I have never been so moved by this amazing brilliant man. I have always loved Asian people and am completely jealous by their sense of community that eluded the Brits decades ago. I will always admire the way that Muslim people sit back, day after day, and watch their national newspapers, their national TV broadcasters and their countrymen, totally insult their very soul, and yet remain totally the epitome of what Islam teaches. Their belief system is to be envied for the way it unites and liberates peoples. Yet the western media are transfixed on those that abuse Islam and those nations who have made their own version of Islam.  They are obsessed with a few lads from the north as though these lads actually represented Islam.

Our governments tell us of all these 'threats', but cannot prove their existence. The American government commit mass murder and blame Islam to justify their greed for oil. And yet, I believe that Muslims are equally capable of trading oil as opposed to having it raped from the ground by the west.  Maybe we lost the community spirit as a result of our 'leaders' who hardly demonstrate it.  Or is this their agenda? To create 'their global community?'

Whatever happens. no lying puppet like George Bush or Tony Blair will ever change the hearts and minds of muslims. Yet another victory for the last Prophet whose wisdom and compassion shines through every muslim 1400 years since his death. Now there is something to be proud of.
